The Sister Song series is a 3-book collection of historical fiction novels about Irish Wise Women. They follow the lives and deaths of Wise Women from the 1500s in Ireland and England to the 1700s in America. (And perhaps beyond…who knows?)

Historical Perspective:
1603 is a pivotal year in both England and Ireland. Elizabeth I is dead. Her nephew James (son of Bloody Mary and King of Scotland) takes the throne. While he is NOT a papist, as was his mother, he IS a religious fanatic and has an obsession with eliminating witches. For the first time, witch executions come to Ireland and Sile is declared a witch.
Book 2: Nokomis – Daughter of the Moon
Planned Release Date: January-March, 2026
Nokomis: Algonquin – Sounds like: (no-ko-MISS)
Meaning: “Wise Grandmother”
Historical Perspective: One Jennet Devis was the sole surviving female accused of witchcraft in Lancashire, England in 1612. After her ordeal, she disappears from all existing records – and that is where our fictional version of Jennet (later in life to be renamed as Nokomis) comes to light.
Book 3: Grace – Gift of God
Available on Amazon October- December, 2026
Grainne: Irish Gaelic (GRON-yah)
Meaning: “Hatred”
Historical Perspective: Better known as “Grace” to her English contemporaries, Grace O’Malley was a powerful political figure during Elizabeth 1’s reign. Often known as the “Pirate Queen” she was more apt to be found at sea than on land. She died in 1603 – the same year as Elizabeth. Her secret daughter becomes a VooDoo Queen and Pirate Captain.
